Chamber Music concert Saturday 8th June 7pm

Titled 'Viola in centre stage', this concert features the viola as a solo instrument instead of being buried in the middle of an ensemble. Tony Mason plays the viola accompanied by Steve Maltby on keyboard in a programme of 19th and 20th century music, starting with six short Nocturnes by Kalliwoda, then a Sonata by Glinka. After the interval there is an Elegy by Glazunov, Four Pieces by Bridge, and the concert concludes with an arrangement of the Five Bagatelles by Finzi. A delightful range of tuneful music with something for everyone.
